REXBURG — Brigham Young University-Idaho professor Russell Shaffer is publishing his first children’s book entitled “Have You Ever Touched A Cloud?”
But this isn’t just any storybook — it’s an interactive app that kids can use on smartphones or tablets to manipulate the bedtime story.
“It’s really fun and I think it is a totally different level of involvement in a story than we’ve had in the past,” he said. “You can do it with pop up books, you can manipulate the story through that but that is such a limited experience and in all honestly they’re not all that great. And so interactivity, it allows the kids to get involved in the actual story themselves.”
The book is about a grandmother tucking in a little girl and the potential she has in life.
BYU-Idaho Radio Reporter Erin Quaranta has interviewed Russell Shaffer about the book in the clip above.
