Repair of Henry’s Fork Bridge west of Rexburg starts Tuesday

RIGBY – Repair of Henry’s Fork Bridge, west of Rexburg, will begin Tuesday, Idaho Transportation Department officials said. The project, on Idaho 33 about five miles west of Rexburg near Beaver Dick Park, is scheduled for completion in late October.

Crews will repair piers and seal the deck. Workers also will install erosion barriers to protect piers from scour.

Work will take place seven days a week.

Motorists may expect delays, with travel reduced to one lane. An electronic signal or flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.

During construction, drivers should be prepared to stop, and should watch for workers and equipment.

A screen placed around piers in the water will be lit at night for the benefit of swimmers, floaters and boaters.

The transportation department recently awarded the $876,500 contract to Cannon Builders Inc., of Blackfoot.
