Alisha Yeates, the former Blackfoot High School girls’ soccer coach accused of having a sexual relationship with one of her players, pleaded guilty to one count of lewd conduct with a minor Friday.

Yeates, 28, was originally charged with five counts of lewd conduct with a minor in Bingham County, and she faced two counts of the same charge and with the same victim in Bannock County as well.

As part of a plea agreement, four of the charges against her in Bingham County were dismissed.

Sentencing in that case was set for June 24.

Bannock County Prosecutor Steve Herzog said that once Yeates is sentenced in Bingham County, the charges against her in Bannock County will also be dismissed.

The case came to the attention of law enforcement when the victim disclosed the abuse to a school counselor. She testified that the relationship between her and her former coach started when she was just 13 years old.
