REXBURG — A man is facing a felony aggravated battery and malicious injury to property charge after police say he violently attacked another man with a bat Friday.
Ryan Herren, 31, was arrested at Brenchly Apartments on Third West after police were called around 6 p.m.
Herren is accused of entering an apartment with a bat in his hand and beating the tenant so severely the victim had to be taken to Madison Memorial Hospital. The victim told police he isn’t sure why he was attacked.
Herren admitted to detectives that he beat the man and smashed the victim’s Buick LaSaber’s window and tail light while leaving the apartments. He told officers he also used a hammer on the car.
Herren is currently on parole for a controlled substance charge in Ada County. He is in the Madison County Jail pending a court hearing.
