POCATELLO — Two people are facing cruelty to animals charges in connection to an incident at the Bannock County Fairgrounds.

The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office said 15 horses and a mule were found in poor conditions earlier this month.

The sheriff’s office investigated the incident and referred the case to the Bannock County Prosecutor’s Office.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Ashley Graham confirmed that Samantha Araze and Kristopher Sagan, the animals’ trainers, were both charged Tuesday, May 24, with misdemeanor cruelty to animals.

Further details were unavailable Tuesday.
