IDAHO FALLS – Idaho Falls’ biggest neighborhood summer block party is coming Aug 10, Idaho Falls police announced Tuesday.

The department is hosting its 16th annual Community Night Out. The event is free and will be held between B and E Streets from 6 to 9 p.m.

“The IFPD is proud to host this annual event to provide residents the opportunity to come together to learn more about safety and crime prevention – cultivate our community spirit,” said department spokesperson Joelyn Hansen.

The event is designed to be an opportunity for law enforcement and residents to mingle.

There will be free food, as well as live entertainment, train rides, games, bounce houses and a scavenger hunt.

Those attending will be able to see the Idaho Falls Regional Bomb Squad robot, Idaho Falls Fire Department trucks, the IFPD Crime Scene Investigation Unit and animals from the Idaho Falls Animal Shelter.

“It’s a night of entertainment, food, activities and games for the whole community,” Hansen said.
