IDAHO FALLS — Getting a parking ticket in Idaho Falls is going to cost you a lot more than what you’re used to.
The Idaho Falls City Council voted unanimously, on Aug. 22, to raise fees throughout the city for fiscal year 2016/2017.
While the majority of city fees are being raised by only a few dollars, parking violations are being doubled and tripled.
A citation for parking illegally in Idaho Falls is, currently, five dollars. The fee is being raised to $20.
A second unlawful parking citation within 30 days of prior citation used to only cost you $15. It will now cost $35.
Your third citation was $30. It has been raised to $50.
All other parking violations have been raised from $10 to $20.
