The following is a news release from the Idaho State Police.
PRESTON — Idaho State Police are investigating a double fatality crash on State Highway 36 near milepost 131, west of Preston.
The crash occurred at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Jhoan C. Nieto, 30, and William A. Nieto, 26, both from Bogota, Colombia, South America, were in a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire traveling westbound on SH-36. The vehicle was driven off the left shoulder of the road and rolled down a steep embankment.
Both Jhoan and William were ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Neither Jhoan nor William were wearing a seatbelt. It has not been determined who the driver was.
Jhoan and William Nieto had been reported as missing persons to Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on December 6, 2016. Last contact with the Nieto’s was on the November 30, 2016.
Next of kin have been notified.
