UPDATE:
The Ammon Fire Department reports the fire is out. The investigation into the cause will begin Wednesday morning.
ORIGINAL STORY:
AMMON — A shop behind a house is burning at 3325 Rawson St., and flames were visible in the roof late Tuesday afternoon.
There is a lot of smoke, and Ammon and Ucon firefighters and an Idaho Falls ambulance have responded.
Crews are having problems with fire hydrants in the area. They were unsuccessful in using a hydrant near the shop, and had to lay out hundreds of feet of line to connect to a second hydrant. Firefighters were having trouble putting out the flames because valves were freezing on their equipment.
We’ll update this story with more information becomes available.
