IDAHO FALLS — The National Weather Service has placed the majority of eastern Idaho under a flood watch starting this weekend.
NWS officials say the weather advisory is in effect for the following counties: Bonneville, Madison, Bingham, Bannock, Jefferson, Butte, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida and Power.

Warmer temperatures are expected to spread into the region ahead of an approaching snowstorm Saturday. The snow will be followed by a period of rain on top of the snow on Sunday morning before colder temperatures arrive late Sunday and Monday.
Rapid snowmelt is likely to cause pooling of water and flooded roadways at low water crossings. Some roads may become washed out, and homeowners situated in areas of poor drainage may experience flooding.
