Police: Woman stabs man to protect herself after he attacks & tries to strangle her

The following is a news release from the Idaho Falls Police Department.

IDAHO FALLS — Idaho Falls Police arrested 35‐year‐old Juan G. Feliciano for aggravated battery and attempted strangulation following an incident Thursday night.

Feliciano of Idaho Falls was also arrested for destruction of a telecommunication line, disturbing the peace and no contact order violation.

According to reports, dispatch received a 911 hang‐up call from a woman around 10:05 p.m.

Officers located a woman near Capital and B Street who had several injuries to her face. She was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.

She told police Feliciano attacked her and attempted to strangle her. During the attack, the woman was able to grab a knife and stab Feliciano to get away from him. She called 911, but he grabbed her phone and broke it.

Feliciano was contacted at EIRMC, where he was being treated for a stab wound.

While at the hospital, Feliciano was being very belligerent and loud. He was told multiple times that he needed to quiet himself and stop using profane language.

Officers also learned Feliciano violated a no contact order.

He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
