The following is a news release from Idaho State Police:
At approximately 1:20 p.m., officers from the Idaho State Police became involved in a vehicle pursuit that started in the area of Olympus Drive and Goldengate in Pocatello.
Two suspects were in the vehicle and shots were fired as the suspects fled the area. The pursuit headed south on Olympus and east on Pocatello Creek Road.
The pursuit terminated off the end of Pocatello Creek Road where the suspects were apprehended. The suspects, a male and female, were transported by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center.
The Idaho State Police has requested the Pocatello Police to conduct the investigation. There were two active crime scenes and the investigation is still in progress.

POCATELLO — Police have closed sections of two streets in Pocatello due to a shooting, according to local law enforcement.
A spokesman with the Pocatello Police Department tells EastIdahoNews.com they responded to an Idaho State Police incident near Olympus Drive and Golden Gate Street. Additionally, KPVI is reporting Pocatello Creek Road near Maple Grove Lane and West Moonlight Mine Road are closed.
Witnesses at the scene say they saw gun casings and heard gunshots.
The area has been closed off by police.
No further information has been released by police.
Portneuf Medical Center confirmed two patients had been admitted — one in full trauma — meaning the injuries are severe.
Highland High and Gate City Elementary schools were temporarily put on controlled access Monday afternoon as a result of the incident. Controlled access is when police require people entering the school to present identification. A message on the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 says Gate City buses may be delayed.
