The following is a news release from Idaho Gives.

IDAHO FALLS — Idaho Gives, the state’s largest single day of giving, is set for one month from today – Thursday, May 4th, 2017.

To celebrate the fifth year of the event and make its biggest impact yet, The Idaho Nonprofit Center has set a goal of raising one dollar for every adult in the State of Idaho – or $1.2 million in total. Since its inception, Idaho Gives has raised more than $3.5 million for charitable causes in every corner of the Gem State.

“This year, we are aiming to raise more funds for Idaho nonprofits than ever before,” Idaho Nonprofit Center Executive Director, Amy Little said. “Hundreds of causes both big and small have joined together to raise money – giving Idahoans unlimited ways to help build strong communities.”

Nonprofit organizations have until April 15th to sign up for Idaho Gives and join the list of nonprofits eligible to receive donations. Participating nonprofits stand to share in an award pool that has a number of prizes throughout the day, including:

Leaderboard prizes – given to the top small, medium and large nonprofits.
– Golden Tickets – throughout the day, random donors will receive a Golden Ticket and have their donation instantly matched!
– Regional 5×5 – One nonprofit in each of Idaho’s five regions will secure a bonus matching donation.
– First donation – to kick off the event, the first donation after midnight MDT on May 4th will earn a $250 bonus for the corresponding nonprofit.

The awards pool is funded by some of Idaho’s philanthropic leaders, including the O’Gara Family, George & Bev Harad, AJ & Susie Balukoff, JR Simplot Company, Micron Foundation, Idaho Falls Steel Potatoes, HD Insurance, Elevate Publishing and First Nonprofit Group. The event is underwritten by Idaho Central Credit Union, Pacific Source Health Plans and Idaho National Laboratory.

Also new this year, Idaho Gives has upgraded its donation platform, now powered by GiveGab. The new platform will allow for a number of enhancements, including lower fees and faster payout of donations.

“Idaho nonprofits bring both economic and intrinsic value to our state. We want to make it as easy as possible for them to engage with donors and boost their fundraising, so they can put more dollars to work supporting their missions,” Little said. “Moving to GiveGab allows us to put more funds in the hands of our nonprofit partners – and allows donors to maximize their impact.”

Nonprofits can sign up at IdahoGives.org – the same place Idahoans can make their donations on May 4th.
