The following is a release from the Chubbuck Police Department.
CHUBBUCK — On 4-5-17 at 1:45 PM officers with the Chubbuck Police Department responded to the area of the Pine Ridge Mall in reference to a possible trespassing complaint.
While officers were investigating the complaint, the suspect left the scene on foot.
A short while later we were able to identify the male as 32 year old Ian J. Andersen from Blackfoot. It was determined that Andersen had an outstanding felony probation violation warrant as well as a misdemeanor warrant out of Bingham County.
A foot chase ensued with multiple officers from the Chubbuck Police Department, and ultimately the male was located on top of a semi-tractor trailer parked at the Jackson’s Food Store at 4444 Yellowstone in Chubbuck.
Negotiations were conducted for approximately 50 minutes when he eventually came down from the trailer and was taken into custody without further incident. He is currently being housed at the Bannock County Jail on both outstanding warrants as well as resisting and obstructing.
During the foot chase, one officer with the Chubbuck Police Department suffered a knee injury and is currently being treated at a local medical facility.
At the conclusion of the foot chase we were assisted by the Idaho State Police, Idaho Department of Corrections District 7 Probation and Parole, and the Chubbuck Fire Department.
