REXBURG — The Dealio and Hemming Village are teaming up for the second Annual Zombie Chase Race 5K.
The 5K race through Rexburg, includes more than a dozen obstacles for participants. Volunteers dressed as zombies will be spread throughout the course. Runners wear flags and the zombies attempt to pull out the flags, which represent the runner’s lives.
Zombie make-up will be provide to participants by Evens Hairstyling College and Paul Mitchell the School Rexburg.
After the success of last year’s event, The Dealio and Hemming Village decided to turn it into an annual event that can benefit a section of the local community. This year a portion of all proceeds from the race will be donated to the Madison Junior High Parent/Teacher Organization, according to the press release.
“We live in such a great place with a great sense of community and involvement,” said Brady Gardner, managing partner at The Dealio in a release. “We love to give back in any way we can.”

The race will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, in Rexburg with the first wave of runners leaving at noon from the Nature Park and running through the course, ending in Hemming Village.
The event will function the same as the previous year, with the addition of the runner zombies.
Last year the event had nearly 500 people attend, this year organizers are expecting closer to 1,000.
