IDAHO FALLS — Emergency crews rushed to Freeman Park Sunday afternoon after receiving a call that a man and woman were stranded in the Snake River.
The couple was in a small boat with their red Labrador around 4:15 p.m. when they say the boat got caught on some rocks and capsized.
Bonneville County Sheriff deputies, Idaho Falls Police and EMS and Idaho State Police responded to the scene. By the time they arrived, the man and woman had swam to shore. The couple was treated in an ambulance, but was able to leave on their own.
Crews helped the couple search for their dog but, as of Sunday evening, there was no sign of the animal.
A fisherman, in another boat, saw the accident and was able to retrieve items that had floated away.
The boat was removed from the water Sunday evening around 6:30 p.m.
