IDAHO FALLS – It’s been an annual tradition for the past 20 years and many of you are asking why Trick-or-Treat Street won’t be held this year.
Managers of Riverbend Communications, the sponsor of the event, say they made the hard decision to cancel Trick-or-Treat Street weeks ago.
“The event simply grew into one that was so big that it was no longer possible for us to continue it on an annual basis,” Mike Nelson, Riverbend Communications Operations Manager, said. “We have decided to focus our energies and efforts into serving the community in other ways.”
Several other parties and events will be held in Idaho Falls over the Halloween weekend and that’s another reason Riverbend decided to forgo Trick-or-Treat Street.
“Many great community activities have been added to celebrate the holiday including Boo at the Zoo, EITC Truck or Treat, and dozens of trunk-or-treat streets,” said Jay Dye, Riverbend Special Projects Director. “We are so happy our community can help keep the children safe at Halloween.”
