IDAHO FALLS – Witnesses say the driver of an SUV trying to cross Hitt Road caused a crash Saturday afternoon, resulting in the SUV being flipped on its side.
The wreck happened around 1:00 p.m. in front of Noodles & Company on Hitt Road near 17th Street.
The driver of a Chevy Uplander tells EastIdahoNews.com she was trying to get from Albertson’s to the Grand Teton Mall. As she crossed the street, the driver of a Dodge Intrepid traveling south hit the SUV – knocking the Uplander on its side.
Idaho Falls Police and Bonneville County Sheriff Deputies responded to the scene. Officials say nobody was hurt in the crash but traffic was backed up both directions of Hitt Road for nearly an hour.
Signs indicate cars leaving the Albertson’s parking lot are only allowed to turn right. Crossing Hitt Road is not permitted.
