IDAHO FALLS – Tautphaus Park is about to become a little safer thanks to a local security company.

4Sight Security is donating $30k in surveillance cameras to the Idaho Falls Park.

“It’s important to me that our families feel safe when they come out to Tautphaus park,” 4Sight Security CEO Mark Blackburn says. “Everything we have is because of the people of Idaho Falls.”

With the number of vandalisms and increased crime at the park, city leaders say it’s time to take additional security measures.

“This is the perfect time to get the security cameras up to deter crime,” Idaho Falls Director of Parks and Recreation Greg Weitzel says. “It’s something that’s gonna pay dividends in the long run because we spend a lot of money cleaning up vandalism and fixing things that get broken.”

The cameras have the ability to capture video during the day and at night. City leaders and police can access footage at anytime. Eventually the city hopes to expand capability so the public to pre-screen the park before visiting.

4Sight Security has already installed cameras at Tautphaus Park Zoo and 11 additional park cameras will be installed this weekend. The cameras scope will include the skate park, Fun Land, and an existing playground.
