REXBURG — Sirens blared and lights flashed as officers paraded down 2nd East in Rexburg on Saturday, Dec. 12 for the annual Shop With A Cop event event.
Officers from local police departments and sheriff offices escorted children down the street to McDonald’s for a free breakfast and then to Walmart to shop for themselves and family members.
Both locations had extra staff members on hand to handle all the smiling children and law enforcement. The purpose of the event is to encourage positive relations between officers and the community, and especially to make sure the children have a wonderful Christmas.
