POCATELLO — The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District is holding a press conference this afternoon “to address the continuation of employment offer to a food service worker.”
In December, Dalene Bowden, a food service worker at Irving Middle School, was placed on leave after she gave a free hot lunch to a 12-year-old girl who said she was hungry and didn’t have any money.
Days later Bowden received a letter from the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District informing her that she has been fired.
The story received national attention and, on Dec. 23, the District offered Bowden her job back.
EastIdahoNews.com has a crew at the press conference and will provide updates throughout the afternoon.
